Most people understand the importance of regularly maintaining vehicles to keep them running – getting oil changes, properly inflating tires, or putting in gas – are all necessary components to keep vehicles in good shape to ensure reaching the next destination.

Do you take the time to ensure the driver and passengers of your vehicle receive the same care and attention? Biannual wingman days are designed to allow total force Airmen to step back from daily operations, taking time to conduct a self-check on components supporting the four pillars of wellness: social, mental, physical and spiritual.

Our 21st Space Wing’s Spring 2017 Wingman Day is scheduled for Friday, May 12. Wingman day activities focus on promoting positive behaviors and incorporate individual resilience skills training such as interpersonal problem solving, values-based goals or capitalizing on strengths.

Helping agencies such as Family Advocacy or the American Red Cross will host workshops throughout the morning such as Sleep Hygiene, Emotion Management, Healthy Drinking 101 and Communication Skills. The workshops are open to anyone with base access.

Master resilience trainers and squadron-level assistants will conduct training at the squadron level. Team building activities held in the afternoon may consist of a community service project, hiking, sports or a squadron potluck. The intent is to take time to communicate and connect people within work centers.
