Eating a healthy breakfast every morning contributes to having more energy, improved performance, reduced hunger throughout the day, and can play a role in maintaining a healthy body weight. With the physical demands and the high operations tempo that are put on Airmen it makes it more important to get a good nutritious breakfast.

Hours of operation for both breakfast and dinner were extended at the Aragon Dining Facility on Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, Nov. 21, 2016.

The new hours for breakfast are Monday through Friday and on Unit Training Assembly weekends from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Dinner is open Monday through Friday and on UTA weekends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“Fueling the force is our motto.” said Tech. Sgt. Catherine Leahy, Aragon Dining Facility manager. “Everyone’s schedule is different so being able to extend that time period, and make sure someone gets a valued nutritious meal to start or end their day, which will definitely offer more incentives for individuals to use our facility.”

With making this change the first thing that had to be looked at was the feasibility with the contractors that worked here, said Leahy. Airmen with the 21st Contracting Squadron worked with the contracted company to make changes so that the new hours would work.

The Aragon Dining Facility, serves Airmen that work on Peterson AFB and Schriever AFB. The dining facility serves breakfast, lunch and dinner for enlisted service members, officers that are here on a TDY and retirees.

Anyone with a valid Department of Defense Identification card can eat at the dining facility during breakfast.
