A firefighter assigned to the 21st Civil Engineer Squadron deploys a hose line during a full-scale emergency response exercise at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, Aug. 19, 2026. The triennial exercise simulated a commercial aircraft crash and tested regional emergency response capabilities, including fire suppression, incident command, mass-casualty response and coordination with mutual aid partners. The training strengthened emergency response readiness and reinforced Space Base Delta 1’s ability to protect personnel, infrastructure and mission operations during large-scale emergencies.
