A polar bear roams alongside the road on main base at Pituffik SB, November 6, 2025. Polar bears are one of the numerous animals those stationed at Pituffik live alongside. People who live and operate at Pituffik must take extra precautions because of the harsh weather, polar bear presence, and remote location of the base.
