Members of the Space Base Delta 1 Friends of Space group watch on as members of the 21st Civil Engineer Squadron fire department put out a fire on a training platform at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, April 23, 2026. The fire department at Peterson plays a critical role in the community, acting as the first responders for any mishaps or aircraft emergencies on the flightline that Colorado Springs and the base share.
