National Reconnaissance Office Chief beats cancer
Chief Master Sgt. Tina Timmerman, National Reconnaissance Office senior enlisted leader, battles and beats stage two invasive ductal breast cancer. Timmerman said that as a woman she had felt pressured to wear a wig so she didn’t appear weak; however, she said the wig was hot and heavy and taxing to wear while going through her treatments. In the end, Timmerman said she decided to come into work without it on and said it was extremely liberating. (U.S. Space Force graphic by Senior Airman Jonathan Whitely)
