McGee, 821st Air Base Group commander; Danish Liaison Officer, Navy Cmdr. Senior Grade Sigrid Hansen from Joint Arctic Command; and senior leaders from Thule Air Base and USSPACECOM listen to a brief at Thule Air Base, Greenland, on Nov. 11, 2021. Thule Air Base provides significant strategic value for both NATO and U.S., remaining a collaborative space where the U.S., Denmark, Greenland and Canada cooperate on a range of issues including regional security, scientific research and support for our activities in space which includes early warning radar, facilitating communication with polar orbit satellites and monitoring domestic and international space launches. USSPACECOM conducts operations in, from and to space to deter conflict, and if necessary, defeat aggression, deliver space combat power for the Joint and Combined force and defend U.S. vital interests with allies and partners.
