P-S GAR begins POW/MIA Remembrance Week
The U.S. and the Prisoner of War/Missing in Action flags fly above the Vosler Noncommissioned Officer Academy on Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, Sept. 13, 2021. Previously, the POW/MIA flag was only displayed six days per year: Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, National POW/MIA Recognition Day, and Veterans Day. However, under the new POW/MIA Flag Act the flag is to be displayed whenever the American flag is displayed on prominent federal properties to include the U.S. Capitol and the White House ensuring both flags are displayed concurrently every day at federal locations.
