Dental Squadron Reactivates
Col. Patrick Pohle, 21st Medical Group commander, left, unsheathes the guidon to activate the 21st Dental Squadron, Sept. 10, 2020 at Peterson Air Force Base. In July of 2019, the Dental Squadron was deactivated and reorganized into the 21st Operational Medical Readiness Squadron in an effort to streamline medical readiness, as ordered by the Air Force Surgeon General. One year later the Dental Squadron was officially reactivated on Sept. 30, 2020. Col. William Dickson, incoming 21st DS commander, says he is thankful for the change back, because it allows for the dental clinic and the dental area lab to express their needs better and provides more opportunities for the Airmen assigned to the unit.
