Electro-Optical Infrared Weather System – Geostationary declared IOC

Space Force director of operations and communications, as the USSF presents the Electro-Optical Infrared Weather System – Geostationary for operational acceptance and combatant command presentation to U. S. Space Command at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, Sept. 1, 2020. The EWS-G system collects weather imagery to enable fielded forces to perform environmental reconnaissance and cloud characterization over the Indian Ocean region. EWS-G is a component of the Family of Systems comprising space and terrestrial environmental monitoring assets in the Space-Based Environmental Enterprise portfolio.
