Airmen move aircraft at Peterson Air and Space Museum

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. - Airmen from the 302nd Maintenance Group and Peterson Staff Agencies on Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., help Peterson Air and Space Museum staff and volunteers move a World War II era Republic P-47N Thunderbolt Aug. 3, 2020. The aircraft has been on display in the same spot in the hangar since June 2005. Museum director Gail Whalen said this was the final phase before they move exhibits out of the hangar, redo the floors and then repopulate exhibits. The museum has been closed to visitors since March due to the COVID-19 response, but Whalen hopes they’ll be able to re-open in September. (U.S. Space Force photo by Kristen Allen)
