Thule AB receives annual re-supply shipment
Col. David Hanson, 821st Air Base commander, discusses the importance of the base re-supply mission with the cargo ship’s captain and Military Sea Lift Command representative in July 2020. Pacer Goose is the annual re-supply mission to support the base with cargo and fuel. This year’s mission offloaded 6.4 million gallons of fuel and 2.7 million pounds of cargo for distribution across base units. In total, 98 items were offloaded, to include connexes, a five-piece firing range module and various rolling stock, such as a brand new Oshkosh Sriker P19 fire truck, a rock crusher and a 48-ft stepdeck trailer. The operation was the result of months long planning and coordination between the 821st Air Base Group, Peterson-Schriever Garrison, Military Sealift Command, U.S. Transportation Command and the U.S. Embassy in Denmark.
