21st SW Command Chief officially submits his application to transfer to the U.S. Space Force

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — Chief Master Sgt. Jacob Simmons, 21st Space Wing command chief, smiles as he submits his application to transfer to the United States Space Force May 1, 2020 on Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. On May 1, 1992, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, making his 28th anniversary the day that he starts his path towards joining the new military branch, all while coincidentally being National Space Day. To apply and transfer, Simmons had to fill out a DD From 368, as well as a USSF Enlisted Request to Transfer to the U.S. Space Force. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Andrew Bertain)
