Vice President Pence and SECAF Barrett lands at Peterson
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Air Force One carrying Vice President Mike Pence along with the Secretary of the Air Force Barbara Barrett, taxis on Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado on April 18, 2020. Colorado Governor Jared Polis, General John “Jay” Raymond, U.S. Space Force Chief of Space Operations and commander of U.S. Space Command, and General Terrence O’Shaughnessy, commander of U.S. Northern Command and Northern American Aerospace Defense Command, and Col. Thomas Falzarano, 21st Space Wing commander, wait for the vice president to exit the plane before he heads to the 50th Air Force Academy Graduation. Pence came to Colorado Springs to speak at the graduation which included 86 cadets from the U.S. Air Force Academy to commission directly into the U.S. Space Force, becoming the very first company grade officers in the new service.
