Thule AB hosts annual Armed Forces Day
THULE AIR BASE, Greenland -- Thule Air Base, Greenland, hosted Armed Forces Day activities March 30-April 1, 2018, an annual tradition between the United States, Denmark, Greenland and Canada. More than 60 Greenlanders from the local communities came to visit the base, some of whom made the 70-mile trip by helicopter, while others took a three-day journey via dog sled team across the Greenlandic Ice Cap, braving windchills as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit.
