AFSPC Unveils Space Fence Model
U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Robert Skinner, Deputy Commander of Air Force Space Command, accepts a model of the Space Fence radar site at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, Sep. 29, 2017. Greg Larioni (left), Vice President and General Manager of Radar and Surveillance Systems at Lockheed Martin, presented the model, which will be displayed at AFSPC Headquarters. The Space Fence system, now nearing completion at Kwajalein Atoll, is expected to dramatically enhance the Air Force's ability to identify and track objects in orbit. The 21st Space Wing will operate the system when it becomes fully operational, projected in 2019. (U.S. Air Force photo/Dave Grim)
