PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. - Brig. Gen. Chad Franks, 14th Air Force vice commander, and Brig. Gen. Pamela Lincoln, 14th Air Force mobilization assistant to the commander, are briefed by Senior Airman Anthony Pipes, 21st Civil Engineer firefighter, on the controls for the water canon attached to one of the flightline crash tender trucks on Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., Aug. 16, 2016. The crash tender is a specialized fire engine designed for use in aircraft rescues. The high-pressure nozzle is used to penetrate an aircraft’s fuselage in order to fight the fire.
