Participants in the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station 5k Tunnel Run/Open House had a chance to pause and take in the history of “Americas Fortress” on May 26, 2016. Since its inception during the Cold War through the war on terrorism, Cheyenne Mountain has remained critical to the defense mission providing command and control for the nation since 1966.
