AF Chief of Staff visits Thule AB Airmen
THULE AIR BASE, Greenland - Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Welsh III, is briefed on the mission of the northernmost tracking station in the Air Force Satellite Control Network by Tech. Sgt. Steven Tate, Detachment 1, 23rd Space Operations Squadron, at Thule Air Base, Greenland on Nov. 23. In addition to gaining a better understanding of the unique space and satellite command and control operations located 700 miles north of the Arctic Circle, Welsh was able to wish everyone stationed at Thule AB a happy Thanksgiving. The mission of the 50th Space Wing unit is to provide telemetry, tracking and commanding operations to the U.S. and allied government satellite programs. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Ebony J.
