Thule Polar Bear Plunge
THULE AIR BASE, Greenland –With icebergs floating in the distance, Airmen from the 12th Space Warning Squadron brave the frigid water in the annual Thule polar bear plunge Aug. 15, 2015. The traditional plunge into North Star Bay is held each summer when the bay is not frozen, and while Thule is experiencing 24 hours of light each day. Thule is one of the six installations operated by the 21st Space Wing, and is located 750 miles north of the Arctic Circle. (U.S. Air Force photo by Steve Brady)
