THULE AIR BASE, Greenland – Merlin Yoder (left), a pilot with Dynamic Aviation, and 2nd Lt. Nathan Briggs, 12th Space Warning Squadron crew commander and chief of maintenance, toast traditional Danish bread over a bonfire Aug. 15 following the polar bear plunge. Dozens of Airmen, contractors and temporary duty personnel braved the frigid water in the annual dip into North Star Bay. Thule is one of the six installations operated by the 21st Space Wing, and is located 750 miles north of the Arctic Circle. (U.S. Air Force photo by Steve Brady)
