Peterson celebrates Arbor Day
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Col. Douglas Schiess, 21st Space Wing commander, celebrates Arbor Day July 8 at the Peterson East Child Development Center by planting three trees on the west side of the building. Joining Schiess to plant the trees are Col. Reggie Ash, 21st Mission Support Group commander, Fred Brooks, 21st Civil Engineer Squadron Environmental Element chief, Kathryn Walton, Cori Parker and Khloe Vargas. Schiess also accepted the Tree City USA Growth Award presented by the Arbor Day Foundation, which recognizes excellence in urban forestry management.
