PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Airman 1st Class Nishant Thakar, 21st Civil Engineer Squadron, makes adjustments to the Leica C10 High Definition Survey Instrument. Peterson Air Force Base was the first in the Air Force to purchase the device, and the only other one is located at Nellis AFB. . The scanner creates images that can be used for maps, crisis management and other purposes more efficiently and accurately than similar GPS devices. (U.S. Air Force photo by Dave Smith)
