Med group practices disease containment
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Senior Airman Thomas Carlson (right), 21st Medical Operations Squadron, checks the blood pressure and temperature of 2nd Lt. Edward Garces, 21st Aerospace Medicine Squadron, after Garces complained of flu like symptoms. The medical check-up was part of an exercise scenario Dec. 4 where influenza developed in the Pacific and swept through the country onto Peterson. The 21st MDG set up vaccine distribution points at Peterson, Schriever Air Force Base and Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, and countered the threat by prioritizing the administration of limited preventive medicine.
