Med group practices disease containment

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Senior Airman Nicholas Atherton, 21st Medical Group records technician, collects critical health information from Team Pete personnel to determine if medical treatment is necessary due to an influenza outbreak. During the exercise Dec. 4, a new strain of influenza developed in the Pacific and swept the country. The 21st MDG set up vaccine distribution points at Peterson, Schriever Air Force Base and Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, and countered the threat by prioritizing the administration of limited preventive medicine.
