April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and was recognized by the parents, staff and children at the Peterson Child Development Center on April 1. They marked the occasion by giving shiny pinwheels to more than 50 children, which they placed into small flower beds in the CDC playground area. “I call upon all Americans to observe this month with programs and activities that help prevent child abuse and provide for children's physical, emotional, and developmental needs,” President Barack Obama said in his presidential proclamation. Between the main CDC and eastern facility, more than 100 children took part in the event. (U.S. Air Force photo/Michael Golembesky)
