21st Space Wing Company Grade Officer of the Year
Capt. Ian Weichert, 21st Aerospace Medicine Squadron, 21st Medical Group, was selected as the 2007 Air Force Space Command "Public Health Officer of the Year." In command of AFSPC’s largest public health flight, supporting five bases and three wings, he led his team to the 2007 AFSPC “Outstanding Public Health Team of the Year.” His flight programs were instrumental in the 21st AMDS garnering AFSPC's “Team Aerospace Award.” During this period, Captain Weichert also completed squadron officer school by correspondence and was the wing’s number one selection to attend in residence. Finally, Captain Weichert volunteered his time in support of the U.S. Air Force Academy’s falcon mascot program, providing veterinary support and arranging radiographic reporting. Captain Weichert is currently TDY.
