Denmark-based Airmen support space mission
Members of the 21st Contracting Squadron’s Detachment 1 stand outside their office at the U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark. The nine-member team handles all the contracts that provide life support – from running the base’s fitness and community centers to repairing the base’s pier – to Thule Air Base in Greenland. The vital support Det. 1 provides allows the men and women of Thule to monitor and provide early warning of intercontinental and sea-launched ballistic missile attacks against the continental U.S. and Canada.
