21st Space Wing ‘Knights’ march for Bataan
Random marchers make their way up the hills of White Sands during the 26.2-mile Bataan Death March Memorial Marathon on White Sands Missile Range, N.M. March 30. The marathon march is held annually in remembrance of approximately 75,000 Filipino and U.S. Soldiers who surrendered to the Japanese forces on the island of Luzon. Later on as prisoners of war, the surrendered were forced to march about 100 kilometers north to Nueva Ecija to Camp O'Donnell, a prison camp, in the scorching heat through the Philippine jungles.
