Sports and Field Day
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo.--Team Pete personnel run through the trees at Eagle Park to start off the base’s 2009 Sports and Field Day 5 kilometer run June 18. Approximately 1,700 Airmen from units around the base participated in 25 individual and team sporting competitions ranging from dodge ball and archery to golf and swimming. There were several competitions throughout the day, and the Peterson units that accrued the most victory and participation points came out on top. For the small unit category, the 544th Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group took third place, the 76th Space Control Squadron took second place, and the 21st Contracting Squadron took first place. For the medium unit category, the 21st Logistics Readiness Squadron claimed third place, the 21st Space Wing Director of Staff Agencies took second place, and the 21st Operations Support Squadron clinched first place. For the large unit category, the 21st Medical Group won third place, Team Colorado earned second place, and the 21st Force Support Squadron took top honors in the category.
