Vaccine
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Airman 1st Class Kristopher Hawkins and Airman Jonathan Rivera, 21st Medical Operations Squadron medical technicians, administer the live FluMist vaccine to Chief Master Sgt. Tim Omdal, 21st Space Wing command chief, and Col. Stephen Whiting, 21st SW commander, during the 21st SW commander’s call Sept. 3 in Hangar 140. Flu season starts in October and continues into May. The flu vaccine is mandatory for all active duty personnel and optional for military ID card holders, and is designed to increase readiness to support deployable Airmen as well provide installation support and protection. The vaccine was for the seasonal flu; servicemembers can expect a two-part H1N1 vaccine in October or November. (Air Force photo by Rob Bussard)
