PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Col. Stephen Whiting, 21st Space Wing commander, passes the POW/MIA flag to Master Sgt. Lance Thibault, 50th Space Wing, completing the first leg of the 24-hour POW/MIA run Sept. 17. Chief Master Sgt. Tim Omdal, 21st SW command chief, and Capt. Paul Scheglov, 21st SW executive officer, accompanied Colonel Whiting on the first leg of the run. The wing hosted several events during the week, including a reveille ceremony, the run and a candlelight vigil. The week culminated with a remembrance ceremony Sept. 18 at the base chapel, where retired Col. Gordon Scott, a former POW, was the guest speaker. (Air Force photo by Dennis Howk)
