PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Burke Ferrin, 21st Civil Engineer Squadron assistant chief for fire prevention, escorts four-year-old twins Leo and Chloe Morales, son and daughter of Tech. Sgt. Leo Morales, 721st Communications Squadron, through the Surrey Fire Safety House on display Oct. 3 at the base exchange to promote National Fire Prevention Week. The safety house is a compact replica of a home used by fire prevention experts to instruct children on the finer points of home fire prevention. The day’s events and displays also featured an appearance by Sparky the Fire Dog, the National Fire Protection Association’s Mascot; a fire truck display; fire extinguisher training; an education table; and a bouncy fire truck for toddlers. National Fire Prevention Week is being held by military and civilian fire departments across the United States from Oct. 4 to 10. (Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Ray Bowden)
