F-94 gets "star" treatment

Airmen from the 21st Operations Support Squadron banded together to give the F-94 "Starfire" a thorough cleaning on Aug.10 as part of the Adopt-A-Plane program. The F-94 was the host of many firsts: first U.S. fighter without guns; first non-experimental straight-winged aircraft to break the sound barrier; first to employ a drag chute and to use the Hughes automatic fire control system; and the first U.S. radar detected destruction of an enemy plane by an American jet.
