Working dog competition

Staff Sgt. Todge Smith, a canine handler at the U.S. Air Force Academy, works with his dog Haus, a German Shorthaired Pointer, during an explosives detection exercise in Hangar 119. Haus is the Department of Defense’s only German Shorthaired Pointer. The exercise was part of the fourth annual Rocky Mountain Canine Trials, which took place Sept. 7 and Sept. 8 at Peterson, the Colorado Springs Airport and the Air Force Academy.
