21st Space Wing firefighters use a hydraulic rescue tool, also known as the “jaws of life,” to peel back the metal of a smashed car door so they could safely extract an injured driver. Firefighters and rescue workers were on the scene of a simulated drunk driving crash Nov. 10 on Peterson Air Force Base. The event, Every 15 Minutes, was hosted by U.S. Northern Command and included participation from the 21st Space Wing's firefighters, security forces and emergency medical teams. The anti-drug event is meant to leave a visual image that will deter Airmen from drinking and driving, event organizers said. (Air Force photo by Dennis Howk)
