76th SPCS gets new digs
Col. Nina Armagno, 21st Operations Group commander and Lt. Col. Elvert Gardner, 76th Space Control Squadron commander, with Col. Stephen N. Whiting, 21st Space Wing commander, (left) and Col. Jim Jennings (right), 21st Space Wing vice commander, cut a ceremonial ribbon April 5 to mark the grand opening of the 76th SPCS new facility, Building 2028 on Stewart Avenue. The 76th SPCS had been operating in Hangar 104 on the flightline while the new state-of-the-art building was under construction. The facility, also known as the Lobo’s Den, is more than 34,000 square feet and allows the 76th SPCS to defend the United States’ space superiority from anywhere on the globe.
