Deputy Secretary of Defense visits Cheyenne Moutain AFS

Dino Bonaldo (right), 721st Mission Support Group, briefed William Lynn III, 30th Deputy Secretary of Defense, on Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station blast door operations April 14. Secretary Lynn visited CMAFS to get a firsthand look at the North American Aerospace Defense Command/Northern Command alternate command center and the complex. During his visit, Secretary Lynn closed one of the complex’s 25-ton blast doors and was briefed on the other mission partner activity operating within the complex, including the Defense Intelligence Agency, Air Force Technical Applications Center, Strategic Command Joint Functional Component Command-Space Missile Warning Center, the 721st Communications Squadron’s Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment System Center and the 721st MSG’s Test Control Division.
