Cardio

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Col. Stephen N. Whiting (left), 21st Space Wing commander, and Airman 1st Class Keith Proctor, 21st Force Support Squadron fitness apprentice, cut the ribbon Dec. 10 at the Peterson Sports and Fitness Center’s new 2,700 square-foot cardio room. The room features 30 state-of-the-art cardio machines, including six Arc trainers that combine elements of climbing, hiking and skiing for low impact cardio. All of the machines are iPod accessible and the room also features two large televisions. The $788,000 cardio room, including equipment, is the first phase of adding more gym space to Peterson AFB, where an estimated 2,500 people use the gym every day.
