Emergency Response Vehicle

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. - Air crew and loadmasters with the 302nd Airlift Wing and members of the U.S. Northern Command Standing Joint Force Headquarters tightly secure the SJFHQ's Emergency Response Vehicle in the back of a C-130 cargo plane Dec. 13. The ERV is one of the tools the SJFHQ uses to rapidly deploy force package in response to crises or events across the nation such as the 2008 wildfires and the responses to Hurricanes Gustav, Ike and Hanna. It allows deployedelements of the SJFHQ to communicate through secure and non-secure systems with every echelon of command and maintain situational awareness through open source reporting. A smaller vehicle than its predecessor, the ability to load and transport the ERV via C-130 greatly contributes to SJFHQ's ability to rapidly deploy anywhere in the USNORTHCOM Area of Responsibility.
