Earth Day
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – About 210 Airmen and Department of Defense civilians take off for a 5- or 10- kilometer run April 22, 2011 behind the Peterson Sports and Fitness Center in celebration of Earth Day and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The 21st Space Wing hosted a number of events to celebrate Earth Day, including a tree-planting ceremony and trash pickup. The wing also hosted guest speakers in April in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The two events culminated with the run, for which participants also received free Sexual Assault Awareness Month T-shirts. (U.S. Air Force photo/Robb Lingley)
