Military Spouse Appreciation Day
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – It was an afternoon of being pampered for Peterson Air Force Base spouses at the first Airman and Family Readiness Center’s Military Spouse Appreciation Day May 24, 2011, at the Building 350 atrium. More than 200 spouses were treated to makeovers, hand massages, finger nail treatment and other beauty tips. They also received educational information and had an opportunity to talk with Family Advocacy about stress and deployments. About 100 children had their faces painted and played other games with volunteers from the Youth Center and the Child Development Centers and all were treated to lunch and gifts provided by Army and Air Force Exchange Service, the Defense Commissary Agency and the Peterson Club. Organizers from the Airman and Family Readiness Center called the event a huge success and said they plan to host one again next year. (Photo courtesy of the A&FRC)
