13th FIS visits Peterson
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo.- Veterans and family members from the 13th Fighter Interceptor Squadron toured the Peterson Air and Space Museum Sept. 1, 2011. The 13th FIS was based at Glasgow AFB, Mont., in the 1960s, and provided air defense for a three-state area during the Cold War using the F-101B Voodoo. Many of the veterans had “hands-on” experience maintaining or flying the museum’s F-101B when it was assigned to the 13th FIS from 1964-1968. The aircraft is painted in 13th FIS colors and markings.
