PeteLight save energy
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- PeteLight, the Peterson energy awareness mascot, stands outside the Peterson Base Exchange Oct. 5, 2011, as part of Energy Awareness Month. The 21st Civil Engineer Squadron’s environmental team was there to promote this year’s theme: Think Green, Build Green, Fly Blue. They provided information about energy conservation and handed out CFLs and reusable shopping bags. There are currently energy saving projects underway in 18 buildings on Peterson. Projects include repairs to heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to increase efficiency and upgrading lighting. Since 2003, the Air Force has cut its energy usage by 15 percent.
