21st OSS warrior
IRAQ -- Senior Airman Sandra Jacobs, an airfield manager for the 447th Expeditionary Operations Support Squadron in Iraq, was named warrior of the week twice for her unit, and warrior of the month once each for her unit and group. Jacobs is deployed from the 21st Operations Support Squadron here. As part of her duties, she has worked a $1.2 million airfield construction project where she was responsible for 25 personnel and eight vehicles. She also facilitated the smooth transition of two Department of State helicopters off an Antonov AN-124 cargo aircraft, ensuring on-time Operation New Dawn assets and minimum impact to airfield operations. She oversaw the airfield driving program, trained more than 150 drivers and issued approximately 120 drivers’ licenses. Jacobs also helped distribute toiletries and clothing to more than 80 Iraqi families, and regularly volunteered at morale and welfare events including the USO, post office and a volleyball tournament, boosting morale of coalition forces.
