Thule communications team dials in Gold Knight

THULE AIR BASE, Greenland – The 821st Support Squadron communications flight was named the October Gold Knight recipient. During the month, the flight innovatively overhauled the maintenance and operations of the Air Force’s northern most telecommunication and network infrastructure enabling Thule and its mission partners’ reach-back capabilities. In addition, the flight maintained discipline by conducting an on-the-spot site survey at the protection level one solid state phased array radar system to provide increased communications to Thule AB. Furthermore, they demonstrated tremendous leadership as the first of six diverse flights to complete the October Self Inspections Program. Finally, the team led Thule AB with the timely completion of critical bi-weekly random anti-terrorism measures and processed more than 8,500 pounds of incoming mail for approximately 150 military and civilians. Team members include 1st Lt. Ariel Torgerson, Master Sgts. Kevin Smith and Jason Esser, Tech. Sgts. Darrell Kinsey, Bryan Sheward, Bryant Hines, Ralph Reed and Alina Hanson, Staff Sgts. Eric Jennings, Rayanne Billings and Darreyn Johnson, and Airman 1st Class James Heady.
