Two, new 450-ton chillers provide chilled water for the radar and other subsystems. The two old chillers (pictured) were installed when the site was originally constructed and consumed a significant amount of electricity. The new chillers not only save energy, but use significantly less refrigerant making them more environmentally friendly. (U.S. Air Force photo)
