Brig. Gen. Raymond visits 21st SW
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. - Lt. Col. Paul Tombarge (left), 21st Operations Group deputy commander, discusses the new 16th Space Control Squadron facility March 16 with Brig. Gen. Jay Raymond, 5th Air Force vice commander. Raymond was the 21st Space Wing commander from 2007-2009. The facility, now under construction, will be the central operating location for the Rapid Attack, Identification, Detection and Reporting System. The 16th SPCS at Peterson, along with various suites of transportable antennas deployed around the world, will be able to detect, characterize, geolocate and report sources of radio frequency interference on U.S. military and commercial satellites in direct support of combatant commanders.
