Thrift shop volunteer
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Lou Newbill, Peterson AFB Thrift Shop volunteer, slices a cake in her honor June 25 as the Thrift Shop's longest-serving volunteer. Surrounded by friends and fellow volunteers, Newbill, 95 years young, celebrated her nearly 35 years of service with a potluck lunch and shared memories of years past. The Thrift Shop, building 615 off Otis Street and Wurtsmith Avenue, is open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, but is closed for the month of July. For information, call the thrift shop at 596-4463.
