From the entire command team here at the 21st Space Wing, we want to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is a special day when Americans gather with family and friends to appreciate all our blessings. We are grateful every day to serve with such incredible professionals here at the wing, on Team Peterson, and stationed abroad. Because of your hard work, dedication, and sacrifice in providing unrivaled space superiority to our nation and its allies, we continue to execute global capabilities to defend the homeland and secure space 24/7, 365 days a year. As for your families, there is no better time to thank them for their unwavering support and their sacrifice which allows us to complete this mission on behalf of a grateful nation.

It's important to note that sometimes Airmen cannot be with their families during this special time. Please remember, right now we have deployed personnel supporting overseas operations, and many of your colleagues here at Peterson and around the world standing watch on our behalf this holiday weekend. As a military community, we need to rally around them and their families during this time, and always keep them in our thoughts and prayers as we celebrate this holiday. To those deployed away from home, those working on Thanksgiving and to their families: You are making a real difference every day in keeping our country safe. Thank you for answering your nation's call.

Finally, we want everyone to return from the Thanksgiving weekend safe, rested, and revitalized. Airmen should always have a plan in place and make sure their wingman does the same. Whether traveling or just staying home for the weekend please use sound risk management and take care of yourself, friends and loved ones. Remember: Life is precious -- Be smart, have a plan, use good risk management, and always have a wingman.

Knights -- In this time of thanksgiving, Debbie and I want to express our sincere gratitude for you and your family. Working with you has been a privilege and amazing opportunity for both of us. We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for your continued service to the best space wing and Air Force in the world.
